Pamela Erskine-Loftus is the director of The Media Majlis at Northwestern University in Qatar, a university museum of journalism, communication and media. She holds a PhD in Arabian Peninsula museology, and has held positions with Sharjah Museums Department, UAE; Qatar Museums; the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, California; and The Museum of Modern Art in New York. She is the editor of three publications on Gulf museum practice, Reimagining Museums: practice in the Arabian Peninsula (2013) and Museums and the Material World: collecting the Arabian Peninsula (2014), both with MuseumsEtc., and co-editor of Representing the Nation: heritage, museums, national narratives and identity in the Arab Gulf States (Routledge, 2016).
